I'm a slacker...

It's true.  I really am a slacker.  Thanks to all of you dear friends for still commenting and stopping by even though I haven't returned the favor.  Apologies. Noticed I've even lost a few followers in the process. But it's summer and I've been taking a break from it all.  Had a blast on vacation with the kids. Returned back to reality of unpacking and getting settled in.  It's a sloooow process.  Motivation is eluding me.  For any of you who have moved a lot, do you just get sick and tired of your decor?  I've arranged and rearranged the same stuff over and over. Never does it work the same in each house.  I used to enjoy that challenge but am now tired of the shuffling. Determined not to buy anything new while renting.  Holding out.  19 months and counting!  (That's when hubby graduates and we go somewhere more permanent.)  My house still pretty much looks like this...

Well, I do have a dining table sitting there but that's about it.  We're drowning in a sea of beige so here's what I pulled from my inspiration folder. This inspires me to add some new life into my red sofa for the family room.  Going green this time, just a touch of apple green.  Maybe that will wake up my decor senses and I'll get on a roll.

Courtesy of Houzz, My favorite place for ideas.  Sorry I do not know the specific owner of this picture.  Please come forward if it's yours.  I'd love to see more.
Will post pics of my completed room some happy day!

I've decided to chill out for two more weeks and just concentrate on my kiddos.  They are growing up and summer is almost gone.  Prince A is entering 7th grade, eekk.. Prince O's going to pre-k.  And of course, the Princess is off to college.  Never have figured out how moms keep up a weekly blog all year long.  I've even considered giving mine up but know when school starts, I'll have some "me" time again.  Until we meet again, happy trails!

Have a great summer! This little blogger will be here when you get back ready to see what inspirations you have for me. No pressure! LOL!

Hi there, you old slacker! You must be having a really terrific summer for you not to be on here much. I am so glad for you.
I love your insp. picture, the red and apple green looks very "lively" together, maybe that will get the decorative juices flowing again. And yes, back when I moved four times in twelve years, I was sick of my stuff and it cannot fit into every home and decor. Sometimes I just wanted to throw it all away and start over.
Keep having fun and you know, I will always be back.
Love and hugs, Cindy

DON'T give up your blog!! You have hit a little bit of a rough patch settling in, but I'm sure when you get motivated to start making your home YOU, you'll feel good about sharing, and as you said, have more 'Me' time for posting when the kids start school.

I love the colors you are looking at. Without painting, you can add some great punches of color. I love Houzz, too!

Take care, my friend!

I like the idea of an inspiration folder. I often see photos and then forget what it was that inspired me so I'm going to start one.

I'm in the same boat - and like you, I've felt the need to tell everyone I respond to that summer if limiting my blog reading time. Sooo...I definitely understand.

I've been vacationing and doing things with and for the kids too. People don't realize that three kids in the house have to be "talked" to "all day." :)
Enjoy your summer...people like me will continue to check in when time permits.
Blessings.

don't worry about followers. if they're true followers, they'll wait patiently for your return. :)

i find the *old stuff* no matter how expensive or beautiful just doesn't always *fit* into the new home the same. different proportions, natural light and window placement makes all my things tired looking.

thank goodness for slip covers being popular, fabric stores and crafty bloggers who give great ideas for a few fresh ideas!

I love the apple green.

I can so relate! We've had five major moves (VA Hospital) from coast to coast and mid way. And, nothing seems to fit the new place. Enjoy the rest of summer.

Best,
Bonnie

Enjoy your children! That is the most important thing!
I lost a follower this week and I am going to be honest and tell you that it hurt my feelings. Did I offend someone? I hope not . But... it happens.
Let us know what colors you go with , when you have time! I will keep checking! ( :
I am going green, pink and white in our new little home.

Enjoy your children! That is the most important thing! I lost a follower this week , and I will be honest. It bothered me -I took it very personally. I know that is silly.
But... it's true.
I think the green will be perfect!
I am quite sure I am going to go with greens , pinks and white in our new little home.
Keep us posted , when you can !
Have a pretty day!
