My Little Boy's Vintage Room

Antique bedroom set bought on Craigslist.  Thought about painting it but the wood look speaks masculinity.

What are BOYS really? .........

My favorite piece in the whole room is this antique amoire which I bought at an antique store.  No room for it anywhere else in the house but I think it matches perfectly in here!

Love the details!

Beadboard on the amoire.

The reading corner.  Old Truck pillow from Pottery Barn.  And a good ole TEXAS pillow thrown in the mix (my birth state.)

Mr. Froggy peering over the basket of books.

...the prince is in... sign from Goodwill- 50 cents! I added ribbon, trim and pom poms to add some glam (the little fru fru is for momma!)

Other accessories: Gas light lamp, rug, airplane hat rack- Target.  Bowling Pin- Marshall's, Blocks- antique store, jacks- arts and craft show, crocodile leather suitcases- estate auction, Ralph Lauren Pillow, J.C. Penney Bedding bought on ebay for a steal!, Curtains- handmade by (gasp!) me from a heavy cotton and gross grain ribbon, rod J.C. Penney, all vintage art prints- Home Goods, one antique car art print- Goodwill, words on wall by Uppercase Living, stuffed animals from here and there, Barn stars- Home Goods, and wooden stars on amoire- yard sale.
 Hope you enjoyed the tour!

OMGoodness! I love your son's room. It's adorable and very inspiring! I've been decorating our boys' "vintage theme" room but I'm not finding affordable "vintage" games, airplanes and trains. Do you mind sharing where you found the oversized jacks/other accessories?
Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving BEAUTIFUL words (and following by blog)...I couldn't have said it better myself!

LOVE the room. I am in the process of sprucing up my son's room. I re-painted the furniture. Check out my posting on that: http://hodgepodge-babselou.blogspot.com/search/label/furniture%20facelifts
I LOVE the curtains. I have sewn grosgrain on my daughter's curtains but never thought to do it on my son's. Reminds me of a Hudson's Bay blanket. This room is a definite favourite!

What a great boy's room. I love the bed on an angle and the curtains hung high and beside the window! You made the space above the window so much more interesting with the vinyl lettering. Very nice!

Thank you so much "Feather Your Nest." A big confession here, the patio at the top of my blog is not mine. My RMS friend kindly let me use it for my blog. I only wish! Someday...

Hi. I just stopped over from Transforming Home and wanted to say hello. I don't have any boys, but if I did I would decorate their rooms like this. So sweet.

Hi, over from Transforming Home and just wanted to say thank you for bringing back memories! When our boys were little they had a room similar to this. We still have the same propeller w/ hooks, the city gas vinyl wall "stickers", and switch plates but are no longer used. The armoire is simply gorgeous!

Looks like you put a lot of thought in the details. What a fun boys room. We have the same gas station light and rug. You've inspired me to go the extra mile and finish my sons vintage room. Kids really enjoy having special things... just as much... if not more :)

Love it!
