Posting my version of a chalkboard at between naps on the porch.blogspot.com Also posting to ASPTL -Do It Yourself
With all the fad of chalkboards going on right now, I had to post mine. Sorry I don't have the before photos but this was an old frame purchased at a thrift shop which I spray painted to give an antique silver finish. Home Depot cut a ply board to size for me. Sprayed the plywood with chalkboard paint (was a little disappointed on the texture but what do you expect out of plywood?) and my brainsmart, not carpenter, hubby put it all together and hung it for me.

Love your chalkboard - it looks great. I posted mine today, too.
I think you are doing just great on your blog...I would love to give you one big suggestion, on each posting take more pictures, way more pictures, closeup/angled/wide, on a minimum of ten...this was a tip someone gave me when I started only in Sept of this year...They also make the pictures big so people can see them and you will be a hit and people will stay longer...I did exactly that....I will be back, hang in there, you have a way better start then me...hugs
Phyllis,
Thank you so much! I can't believe you only started your blog in Sept! I have so much to learn. Thanks for the tips on the pictures! I definitely need to do that. A new camera is on my Christmas list. What kind do you have? And also, how do you make your pictures larger on the blog? I'm not even sure how to comment back to you so I'm just posting on my own post hoping you'll see it. ? I really appreciate your help! Please freely critique my blog. I need it.
This is so pretty. Love that you used a metallic finish and the frame has so much detail and character! Great job!

I got most of my help and tips from susan @betweennapsontheporch if you look on the wide of her blog you will see her cat on a chair and above that it says helpful hints, she has the most concise thoughts and the best advise on how to do things on your blog...her main advise about pictures, never never never use the flash, open windows, turn on all lights and take lots of pictures...all the complete info is on that sight...It also depends on which template you choose, she will help with that, let me know how it goes, love to help

Love the chalkboard. The frame is like my frame! I wasn't sure if I should make it into a chalkboard or mirror. The mirror won. I am currently painting something with chalkboard paint. Jumpin on the bandwagon!
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I LOVE this chalkboard! So simple and elegant!
What color was the silver spray paint? Just plain silver?
